Convert Wise statements to Excel or CSV

Wise already offers statements as PDF, XLSX, CSV, MT940, QIF or CAMT.053 on the web, so if you have the login, export the format you need directly. Conversion is for the PDFs that arrive without one: a client's statements, a tenant's referencing pack, or a year of freelance income someone needs in a spreadsheet.

What to know about Wise statements

365 days per statement

Each statement covers up to 365 days. Longer periods mean several statements, and the date ranges are picked by hand, so overlaps are common. Upload them together and duplicate or overlapping periods are flagged before you export.

Fees, separate or not

For accounting statements, Wise lets you tick a box to show fees separately, and there's a standalone statement of fees as well. If you're converting a PDF someone else downloaded, check whether fees sit inside the amounts or on their own lines before you post them.

Currency codes on amounts

Amounts can carry the currency code, as in -12.50 GBP. Pasted into Excel that's text, not a number. The converter reads the figure as a signed number so it can be totalled, which also means you must keep track of which currency each file is in.

Statements by currency or jar

Statements are downloaded per currency or jar. Treat each currency as its own bank account in your books and code moves between them as transfers, so pounds and euros never get added together in one total.

Accounting tip

With access to the account, Wise's own QIF or CSV export can go into Xero, Sage or FreeAgent, which all accept both formats. For PDFs you've been sent, the Xero-ready CSV goes into Xero and the three-column QuickBooks-ready file into QuickBooks Online.

  • Checked before export

Opening balance plus transactions is checked against the closing balance. Duplicate or missing periods are flagged.

  • Export formats

Excel, CSV, JSON, or QuickBooks and Xero CSV.

FAQ

Wise statement questions

Wise already offers CSV. Why convert a PDF?
If you can log in, export CSV or XLSX directly. Converting is for PDFs you've been sent without access to the account, or older statements someone saved, and the transactions are reconciled to the statement's balances as part of the process.
Can I convert a Wise statement longer than a year?
Each statement is capped at 365 days, so a longer period comes as several files. Upload them together and the converter flags any overlap or gap between the periods, so you know the whole stretch is covered exactly once.
Can I import converted Wise rows into QuickBooks or Xero?
Yes. Review the rows, then export a QuickBooks or Xero CSV.
