What to know about Desjardins statements

Comma decimals and space thousands

A French-language statement writes 2 345,22 where an English one writes 2,345.22. The comma is read as the decimal point and the space as a thousands separator, and the output holds ordinary numbers with a sign for direction. Dates come out as YYYY-MM-DD, which ends any day-month confusion between the two languages.

A balance after every transaction

Each line shows a folio number, the date, a three-letter transaction code, a description and the balance after the transaction. Keep the code in mind when reviewing: an I in front of it means the transaction was made at a caisse where you aren't a member.

Descriptions stay as printed

Desjardins statements can be in French or English. Headings and descriptions keep their original language; nothing is translated, only dates and amounts are reformatted. If your chart of accounts is in English, bank rules in your accounting software beat editing descriptions by hand.

AccèsD's own CSV, and its history

AccèsD can give you a CSV statement for a database or accounting software, and online statements carry a seven-year history that starts on the day you registered for them. Xero and QuickBooks Online both let you map columns when importing a bank CSV, and Sage Accounting takes CSV bank imports as well. Because the converted amounts use a decimal point, you avoid the locale errors that French-formatted numbers cause during imports.

FAQ

Desjardins statement questions

Do I need to translate a French statement before converting it?
No. Upload it as it is. French headings, dates and number formats are understood, and the descriptions stay in French. You get the same columns as for an English statement, date, description and a signed amount, plus the balance check.
Desjardins is changing its business credit card statements. Will they still convert?
Yes. From October 19, 2026, business credit card statements get a new layout, with a separate transaction statement for each linked card. Both layouts are PDFs and either can be converted. Keep each card's statements in their own batch so the period checks stay meaningful.
Why doesn't the number on my credit card statement match my card?
Desjardins uses two numbers for a credit card, an account number and the card number, and they differ. If the number on the statement isn't your card number, it's likely the account number. Label converted files by one of the two, consistently, so a card's statements stay together.
Can I import converted Desjardins rows into QuickBooks or Xero?
Yes. Review the rows, then export a QuickBooks or Xero CSV.
