What to know about Bank of America statements

Deposits and withdrawals in separate sections

Instead of one running list, activity is grouped: deposits in one section, withdrawals in another. Copying section by section is slow and easy to get wrong. Check images add pages, not rows

Online statements include check images. They help when you need to prove who a check was paid to, but they don't add transactions: each check is already a line in the activity, and that line is what becomes a row in your spreadsheet.

Balances sit in the summary

On a multi-page statement, the beginning and ending balances sit in a summary, often pages away from the last transaction line. Those two figures are what the rows are tested against. If beginning balance plus deposits minus withdrawals doesn't reach the ending balance, you're told before you export.
