What to know about Goldman Sachs statements

One printable PDF per month

Each Marcus statement covers the previous month's activity, and accepting the eSign Agreement at account opening turns on e-statements. A year of records is twelve files. Upload them together and the periods are compared: a month you forgot to save, or one saved twice, is flagged before you build anything on top of the data.

Interest Paid and APY Earned

Each statement shows Interest Paid and Annual Percentage Yield Earned. The interest credit is money moving, so it becomes a row; the APY is a rate and doesn't. Keeping interest as its own row lets you total a year of it in one formula.

Few rows, so each one counts

A savings statement often has only a handful of lines: transfers in and out plus interest. With so few rows, a single misread amount throws the whole month off. The balance comparison catches that and tells you which statement to recheck.

Accounting tip

In QuickBooks Online or Xero, set Marcus up as its own bank account and upload the converted CSV to it, mapping the columns when asked. Transfers to and from your checking account should be matched as transfers, not income, and interest coded to interest income.

  • Checked before export

Opening balance plus transactions is checked against the closing balance. Duplicate or missing periods are flagged.

  • Export formats

Excel, CSV, JSON, or QuickBooks and Xero CSV.

FAQ

Goldman Sachs statement questions

Can I use the converted file to total my savings interest for the year?
Yes. Convert the year's statements, filter the description column for interest and sum the amounts. Treat it as a working figure: the tax form Marcus issues is the number to report, and your total should agree with it.
We have a joint Marcus account. Do we each need to convert the statement?
No. It's one statement for the account, and Marcus says only the primary owner can enroll a joint account in electronic statements. Convert it once. If both owners' downloads end up in the same upload, the second copy is flagged as a duplicate.
Can I import converted Goldman Sachs rows into QuickBooks or Xero?
Yes. Review the rows, then export a QuickBooks or Xero CSV.
